Epiphany
Have just been reading Elizabeth at Welsh Hills Again 's reflective blog. The weather in this little part of the world as well was pretty cold last night. Ground rock hard and parts of the single track road, a sheet of glass. And a feeling as though the winter could well go on for ever. But the sun shone today and in a sheltered part, I noticed we had some daffodil bulbs struggling through. Even when you can't see a lot, it's still all going on there under the frozen earth and some day soon .......

Yes bulbs peeping through here too Molly. My freind in Clunderwen tells me it is frozen under foot. As they farm on a steep hill, it makes for some nerve racking slides!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Happy New Year Kath
DeleteAnd I feel winter has not begun. How soon do you count it spring?
ReplyDeleteYou're quite right, but I hate the cold.
DeleteHow many weeks to spring? Let's start the count down.
ReplyDeleteOh yes
DeleteThose daff shoots tend to fool us. Up they pop, giving us the impression that Spring is on the way, then they do nothing for another 4 months.
ReplyDeleteIt is on its way and the days are getting longer, but a bit to go yet.
DeleteHappy New Year. Surely you aren't going into spring yet. I am definitely not ready for autumn here. Weather has been perfect over the past few days.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Sue - no we've got a bit to go yet, but I love looking for the signs of it.
DeleteHello Molly - love those little seeds pushing through - very relaxing - sun is shining here at the moment - definitely a feel of Spring xx
ReplyDeleteBeen quite nice out today - we're supposed to be in for gales tomorrow so a good day to stay inside.
DeleteAll of my bulbs are in brown paper bags hanging in the back porch, waiting for autumn so I can plant them.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see your new growth coming through too! Spring won't be all that long.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to see those green shoots. I must have look round our new garden and see if we have any bulbs coming through - but only when it's a bit warmer. :-)
