  3. Weird spots if it's a ladybug. Is it huge or small?

  4. I'm not sure....we were invaded by a ladybug with a foul smell a few years ago...

  7. The two spotted Ladybird is supposed to be the trouble-maker.

  8. A ladybird, but not one I'm familiar with.

  9. Was a ladybird - really tiny and it was climbing up the back of the settee - sounds a bit ominous :(

  10. Aren't they the French ones that cause some bother?

If they eat greenfly then I'm all for them.

    1. Just been sussing it out on Google. It seems that the Harlequin ladybirds are the baddies - an Asian variety. It looks as if this one is OK - must have hitched a lift in on my fleece or something. I noticed quite a few of the 7 spot ladybirds outside today - I like them, wouldn't want them to be annihilated like the red squirrels have been by the grey ones.

  11. well Molly, I'll tell you. if it's outside and away from your screened windows and doors and simply doing it's thing, it's lovely. if it's inside your home or clinging to your screened windows/door, then it may be a headache if there are more, pure and simple as that. when I lived in the country I was plagued by lady beetles, or whatever they are, and now that I'm living in the city I don't see them at all.
It's a creature of nature, so I hope you get along very well with it! I so wish you were my neighbor down the road.
    happy day to you Molly.

  12. Hi Molly I haven't seen one of those round here! - we were painting the fence yesterday and I had to rescue lots of the regulars from the brush - there was loads of them - must have been that warm sunshine bringing them out x
