Just been into Delores/The Feathered Nest site about the dreaded word verification disease. I am on the new Google Interface which does not include a button in the settings for turning it off. Not to be beaten I went on Google Search for some help and came up with this brilliant site http://stupidblogtricks.blogspot.com/2011/12/turn-off-comment-word-verification.html
I clicked on the gear at the top of the page to get into the little box like it said.. Ha! that will cure it! No chance! Google's taken the option to go back to the old interface off the menu. Not only is word verification still alive and kicking but it's started breeding and there are now two fuzzy words all in black and white to type in, just for those of us who are short of something to do.
Don't ya just love it !!
Can anybody else help me?
Yikes is this a problem on all blogs?! I had word verification!
ReplyDeleteKat
Yes! Tell me all about it. :(
ReplyDeleteI have just encountered these two fuzzy words and tried umpteen times to get it right! (not here Molly - yet) :)
It rejected my attempts every time.
I can't make it out, especially those four letter words. :(
Cheers.....Bernard x
sorry having tons of problems myself.. unable to reply to blogs.....comments boxes dissapearing etc bloody dreadful!
ReplyDeleteD'you think it's anything to do with 'the cutbacks?
ReplyDeleteSo frustrating...
ReplyDeleteHi Molly - sorry you are having probs - me too - all sorts of weird things are happening - ah well so be it - lovely kitty pics and that hay waggon is to die for - having said that it does look a bit unsteady!! xx
ReplyDeleteHiya Jane - seems as if this comments thingy is driving everybody else up the wall a well
DeleteI also have come across the two word verification and hate it. It would be nice if they just left things alone. If it's not broke don't fix it.
ReplyDelete#?$##%###, and that is what I say about the whole thing
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid that leaving comments may become a thing of the past. Nota Bene: My page has WV switched off, and is STRESS free.
ReplyDeleteI had to switch to "moderate" for my comments, as I kept getting SPAM, but switched off the word verification. No point having it, if I get the read the comments before publishing.
ReplyDeleteCute cat by the way!
Since having my blog, I've had several attempts by 'Yuri' in the former USSR to hack my PC. :-(
ReplyDeleteIt's a pain to fill in these wv's but the alternative seems to be to let these tricky b**tards in through an open door. They don't care about ease of use.
Chris, I think you've got a good point. Much as I hate wv, perhaps it is better than the alternative
DeleteThe new blogger interface is a pain - but I was able to change back to the old version by clicking on the little cog wheel symbol at the top right of the dashboard page. I keep getting lost with the new one - cut off from the functions I want to use!
ReplyDeleteHey Molly, so I'm not the only one having WV probs (fuzzy words, double trouble)......
ReplyDeleteYou can click on the little 'round' arrow next to the box to get a different word selection, that helps sometimes.
I thought I was the only one because I was having trouble commenting on blogs last week. Then suddenly I'm having to deal with these blurry words and it's saying 'Prove you are not a robot'.... Wish I was sometimes, I'd certainly get more done around here....
Elaine's explained how to get back to the old Blogger interface, I had the same problem recently......new interface, aargh!!
Love the new photo of you too......
Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting.
Claire ;}
Oh dang.....forgot to say how adorable that kitten is.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's been sniffing around in some charcoal, toooo cute.
Claire :}
I hate it! I shall probably stop commenting in the end, the damned thing irritates me beyond measure.
ReplyDeleteSo frustrating, love your little kitten though !
ReplyDeleteback to normal
Deletehes a lovley character
yes, it's easy. Go back to the old interface via blogger options. go to settings, then comments. change from word verification to not word verification, save the changes. Go back to the new interface.
ReplyDeleteIf you have more questions, come back to me.
Friko , I clicked on the little cog at the top of my dashboard. The only options displayed are Blogger Help, Send Feedback, Edit notifications (which only gives info on email notifications)Connect to Google + and About our New Look. I have explored them all and nowhere does does it give you the option of going back to the old interface. Have I missed something somewhere else?
ReplyDeleteHi Molly,
ReplyDeleteI saw your pleas on Friko's blog. There's a thread in Blogger's help forum which will enable you to go back to the old dashboard and switch off word verification. Just read the whole (short) thread and follow the instructions.

Good luck.
