Mushrooms and Rain

Spent the day raking up fallen leaves. Found this little fungi in my lawn. It's tinged with pink with a pointed head.   It looks stunningly beautiful but I would think, definitely not one for breakfast.

Any idea what type it is?

  4. Hello via Going Gently.
I had one of those in the lawn a couple of weeks ago..nothing since, apart from the small yellow ones popping up like small pincushions

  7. The pink tinge and pointed head are common characteristics of certain mushrooms within these families. Many of these species are quite beautiful but not edible, so it's wise to admire them from a distance. If you're ever unsure about a mushroom, it's always best to avoid consuming it, as many can be toxic.
