My Other Half went to a farm sale yesterday. He scratched his head and found that he had bought twenty economy size, galvanize chicken feeders and an assortment of poultry water troughs. WE HAVEN'T GOT ANY CHICKENS.
Ever been had?
Well, if chicken feeders and water troughs are painted bright blue and come with red wheels - put me down for one! No! Make that two! A bargain and no mistake. :)
Oh Molly, let's hope you can sell them for a profit. It reminded me of my mother buying a huge gong (It stood about 80 -90 cm high) at an auction - I think she was just trying to put the price up although she had nothing to do with the auction.
I must admit I was non too amused when he turned up with them meself but I don't think he'll ever change. Perhaps life would be a lot less interesting if he did so I guess I'll have to stick with him.
Galvanized chicken feeders when decorated with fall leaves, acorns, pumpkins and such are real pretty in the house. I speak the truth-have seen them on the blogs. Thanks so much for your prayers, surgery soon.
oh my that's a whole lot of something to have when you don't have a use for it. yes, you need to get creative Molly. I'm sure you can find some way to put them to use. Perhaps you need some chickens? It may be a sign from the universe that you're about to become an owner of chickens! happy week to you Molly.

Noooo. I took that picture at a previous sale - I only saw what he'd bought when he came home :(
DeleteBest head on out and get yourself some chickies......I wonder if John could use some of those lol.
ReplyDeleteChickens and veggie gardens don't go together.
DeleteMolly that is hilarious..now what!are you going to get some chickens or open an Ebay account or have a car boot sale lol
ReplyDeleteI think car boot is probably the front runner.
DeleteI think this is a sign. You need chickens now.
ReplyDeleteNo, I think I'll just visit John and buy my free range eggs there
DeleteLooking forward to hearing what you're going to do with them.
ReplyDeleteI might keep one or two for herbs. Claire's idea is a good one.

ReplyDeleteI wonder what happened to it.
You never know - it might be worth a small fortune now, if you came across it.
DeleteAnd here I complain when my hubby comes home from the store with the wrong crackers.

DeleteHa! I think I see chickens in your future!
ReplyDeleteNo - I think they're John's department - 2 cats keep me busy.
DeleteOoops, I'd buy a couple from you Molly, but I think the postage might be a killer.
ReplyDeleteHow about planting them up or turning them into mini herb gardens!!
Claire :}
Off to the car booty ASAP

ReplyDeleteWell, they say that the price of scrap metal has gone sky-high, Molly. :-) Otherwise do you fancy going into organic egg production....?
ReplyDeletePity I don't live nearer, I'd have had a poultry water trough from you!
ReplyDeleteSounds very familiar Molly...the happy farmer cannot resist such sales, and buying things that may be useful....one day....lovely to catch up.
