An Hour On

British Summer Time officially started this morning. Who forgot to move the little clock hand an hour on then?  I set the alarm to go off at 6.00 am which would have been 5.00am if it had still been Saturday if you get my drift. Everywhere was blanketed in thick fog here.
It was a brilliant day yesterday and I spent nearly all day in the garden. I forked and dug and barrowed and pruned, mad woman that I am.  Today, I woke up with every bone aching and a tearing pain in my stomach, made a cup of tea and went back to bed until 11-o-clock Sensible ha!

The Garden from Hell
This is what I started with and I've still got another two and a half to do.

But it' starting to improve a bit. I quite like when you can see where you've been.

Hispi Cabbage

Little Gem Lettuce

All Year Round Cauli

Beetroot in plug trays
Got  a few bits growing in the poly tunnel too. The new potatoes have just come through. Cabbage and caulies almost ready. Lettuce planted out. Sweet corn germinated. Tomatoes potted up. Beetroot in plug plants ready to go out. Parsnips and carrots through. Onions with green shoots. Strawberries just starting to come into flower.
Has your weekend been wild as well?

  2. You seem to have a headstart on summer. I'm looking forward to seeing a polytunnel in action. Owlwood is working on one, too. They're a mystery to me until I get to see them.

  6. 25 C here recently, so it's all go in the garden. Sowed carrots yesterday, and planted red onion sets; all done whilst wearing SHORTS.

  10. It's such a temptation to go mad when the weather's good, isn't it? Your range of veg is very impressive and yes, it's great to be able to see where one has been (I think the same about housework....)

  11. Wow Molly! Your advert worked! I'm sending a car over to pick you up as I need some labourers over here to do most of the heavy work.

Take it easy girl (until you're working on mine anyway - you'll need your strength lol!)

    1. They only employ the women round here if they can carry a pig under each arm and run at the same time - It's a hard life :0)

  12. Your gardens are lovely Molly, and your hard work has paid off. With the warm weather I have been out in the gardens doing the cleanup from the winter , but have not planted anything yet. My spring perennials are up and blooming and the flowering trees are in there magnificence right now. They are satisfying my crave for gardening.

After weeks of May and June weather here, March has returned and the weather has turned colder. Good thing I resisted the temptation to plant.

    1. It was a bit frosty last night - you can't really trust the weather until May.

  14. what a lovely spot of garden you have going there. so neat, but I'm aware of the back-breaking work required to achieve it. Oh I wish I had your ambition. I look at my yard and know what I want to design and do with it but my body says "no way Becky". Today I got the lawn mowed and that alone will be with me for days. But I still dream. At the beginning of each Spring I promise myself this will be the year I get something done. Maybe this year. All it takes is to begin...
You've a lovely garden Molly. happy British Summer Time to you. I look forward to watching your garden grow.

  16. Your garden looks pretty good - it is surprising what a bit of sunshine can do to lift the spirits and get you going - it takes a while for the body clock to adjust though - well it did overhere - we overslept this morning! x
